I am going to write up something later, but one aspect not talked about in the GOP's fake sex predator mailings, robo-calls, and TV ads, is the
collassal waste of time for the legislators targeted by this Karl Rove dirty trick.
In talking with particular legislators and their aides, being targeted by the GOP's mailings has slammed them with phone calls of hysterical constituents worried about the 'sex predator that moved onto my block'. Representative Derek Kilmer of the 26th LD (Gig Harbor), said that his home phone number was released and his 8 month pregnant wife has been on the receiving end of some vile and disgusting comments, calling at all hours of the day.
Most aides appear to be busy enough without their phone unnecessarily ringing, and at that point is where I notice the waste of people's time. E-mails, postal mail, phone calls - they all get returned by either the aide or the legislator. 60 phone calls can clog up an aides' day alone. Add 60 e-mails and 25 postal letters, and you got a busy couple of days. Hmmmm, I wonder if Rep. DeBolt has heard from people upset over his little stunt?
