Jim Dean of DFA in Seattle Wed Oct 25--tomorrow!

I invite all to attend a reception with Jim Dean, Director of Democracy for America (and brother of Howard Dean) Wednesday, 5:30 pm, downtown Seattle, 615 2nd Avenue, a few blocks from the Federal Building.

If you've never met Jim Dean, he's a great guy, very friendly and unpretentious, super sense of humor, a fast talker and tireless organizer.

DFA has endorsed Darcy Burner, promoted her nationally, and raised thousands $$$ for her.

Left: Cherisse, Jim and I last June.

Details and RSVP here:

I host a DFA monthly Meetup in West Seattle (thus the sign). Small as our group is, I like feeling I'm a part of DFA (formerly Dean for America).

Last June, at least five local candidates attended--the question and answer period and the networking was very intense.

Oh, the food was good too!

Dal LaMagna (rich local liberal) was there, and (seemingly spontaneously, an hour into the event) offered to match further donations. That caused some excitement. Several people (not me, I'm afraid) made generous contributions on TOP of their original checks, and the total was in the several thousands for a relatively small group.

I was told by the DFA staff that my pictures of Jim from that event were exceptionally good. He's not very photogenic, they say (a face made for radio, he admits). I think he's kind of cute.

How about thanking Jim Dean and all the DFA people for their efforts in behalf of Darcy Burner?

Caption contest, Jim with Mrs. Jay Inslee:

Caption 1: "Darn! I shouldn't have noshed on the garlic bread."

has RSVPd to staffer Holly Webster. She assures me that I won't be the only one there--most did not use the DFA-link page to RSVP, but instead contacted her:
