Political Matchmaker logo: ideas

I registered for Fred's Political Matchmaker site today, and noticed it didn't have a logo exactly, although he had used red white & blue letters in the title.

I was playing around with logo ideas, and came up with some designs, including:

< Veterans & Military Families for Progress (WA) -- President's Report | National Service >

Playing with fonts and Adobe programs is my favorite game--even though I lost the Washblog logo wars, and am reminded by our header every day that Eastern WA is below sea level. I hope those levees hold.

Hey why the heck not? I am an "internet plumber", not a "finish carpenter". I think I do a darned good job with the code, but I am completely willing to concede artistic control. I am open to any and all suggestions regarding logo/artwork/css.

Yeah, maybe the red, white and blue lettering is kind of dumb... but I'm a plumber. Why the red? Why not all blue? Yeah, why not? Just look at the kinds of issues people are asking about or how they're answering in the main. I really wasn't envisioning users across the entirety of the political spectrum in any case, I figured maybe reach to the middle. (I do think it's primarily about the issues, not about one dimensional labels.)

Plus it's doubtful that "Political Matchmaker"  as a phrase would pass muster as a trademark; although with some styling it might. Nice job IMO, but I don't know if I'm a fit judge.

If people like it I'm perfectly happy to go with it. What are we going to do about intellectual property rights: do we need to form an LLC? In any case, you should put some personal creds on it.

Thanks for making my day! Let the contest begin; let me know what the outcome is... the winner gets...? :-)

to make a statement,

it needs to stand up and stand out, but,

be careful,

or you'll scare people.
