Does anyone else think the DNC doorhangers are LAME?

I am planning to do the DNC Neighbor-to-Neighbor canvassing in my precinct (near White Center) today. Another precinct in West Seattle may follow--the one assigned to me.
I'm looking at these doorhangers designed by the national Dem Party. I sure wish we weren't stuck with these. They sorta SUCK. Bad graphic design and lame message, IMO.
I'm wincing at the thought of distributing these.
Read why, below:
1. BAD GRAPHIC DESIGN. The first rule is: don't make people WORK to read the thing (unless you're a punk band or something).
The printed piece is less legible than the screen image.
It's over-designed, with fancy shading effects in the background, bullets, and display text, but the effects actually diminish legibility.
Some of the text, including the headlines on the list of "bold new directions" is in blue type on blue background. Difficult to read, even with normal vision.
Dark red text on a blue background; again, not easy to read.
Other text is white on a blue background, or dark on a white background. That's the text that stands out clearly.
2. LAME MESSAGE: Some of the six "bold new directions" especially the last three, sound like rather vague feelgood goals that every politician of every party promises, every election season.
The first one "Honest Leadership and Open Government" is the best, and the only one that directly challenges the present government: "We will end the Republican culture of corruption and restore a government as good as the people it serves". .
The second "Real Security": protect Americans at home & lead the world by telling the truth to our troops, our citizens, and our allies."
Those two are vague but on the right track at least.
IRAQ/FOREIGN POLICY is an unspoken elephant in the living room that I suppose is hidden inside the first two goals. I notice the signup sheet provided by King County DOES add another goal: "A plan for Iraq". Vague, but at least it's acknowledged as an issue.
The rest are the perennial election season promises: Economic prosperity, Educational excellence, Healthcare, Retirement security...
For instance: "Educational excellence," a goal announced by all parties; it means anything they want it to mean. Republicans use this phrase to justify "No Child Left Behind," vouchers to private schools, opposition to affirmative action, etc.
As we suffer a consitutional crisis, warmongering leadership, cronyism, creeping theocracy, loss of civil liberties, and staggering incompetence, we hear the chirpy Dem motto:
"Together, America can do Better."
Who wrote this, John Kerry? It ranks right up there with "Soup is Good Food" as a slogan...
Someone at the 34th caucus had propsed a new slogan: " Give America Back to the People". I'm not sure it ever was that way, but since we are now headed in the opposite direction, at least it makes a statement.
The little "Note" in a faux-handwriting font on the doorhanger is lame too:
"Dear Neighbor,
Like you, I know that working together, America can do better. It's time for a change. I hope we can chat soon about how Democrats are fighting for our values and priorities. Contact me at..."
I'm going to paste a sticker on top of this with my own message.
