Hate Initiative fails to qualify. LOVE RULES!

He wore a Darth Vader suit (wait, isn't Darth Vader the corrupted and, finally, tragic figure?).  But it didn't help much.  Only 105,000 or so Washingtonians want gay people to be discriminated against in health care, housing, and employment.

That's not enough to qualify Referendum 65 for the ballot in November.

Read a first-hand account by Andrew at Northwest Progressive Institute's Official Blog: Eyman Fails.  There's also a breaking story on  KOMO.

Actually, Tim Eyman didn't fail, in my estimation.  He did a good job.  He showed Washington's voters what he's about.  He helped display to the world that, here in Washington, hatred just doesn't have enough traction to qualify for the ballot.

...until I read about Eyman's latest flub - then it became a "very very good" day!  ;-)

Mr. Eyman's behavior looks more like that Jar Jar Binks guy in the Phantom Menace. Maybe he couldn't find a JJB costume when he really meant to.

Yesterday was the Senate's vote to limit debate on, and bring to a yes-or-no vote, a proposed constitutional amendment to define marriage as bla bla bla.

Among those Republicans who voted to prevent the proposed amendment from coming to a vote was Sen. John McCain. Will this cause a problem for him with the right-wing base, or will they suck up and support him anyway?
