Sen. Biden Hopes for Rise in Bush's Approval Ratings

Sen. Joseph R. Biden, Jr.--the Democratic senator from Delaware who blocked Sen. Cantwell's attempts last year to introduce depleted uranium legislation--had this to say today about the capture of Al-Zarqawi:

The Senator from Delaware also said that he hopes the event improves President Bush's approval ratings. "We get one president at a time. This election in November is not for President of the United States. . . I hope it does improve his standing and emboldens him to take bolder moves in terms of his policy in Iraq. . . His low ratings and his inability to rally support is a difficult position for the United States internationally."

I'm all for winning back the Senate, but let's keep in mind that the bombastic Joseph R. Biden, Jr., will be holding the gavel for the Foreign Relations committee if we do. We have a lot of work to do if the Senate lead on foreign affairs is publicly hoping that Bush will be emboldened by rising poll numbers.

The bombastic Joseph R. Biden, Jr., seems to imagine that an emboldened Bush will somehow take the "bolder moves" we need in Iraq. One can only wonder what those bolder moves might be.

One can also only wonder what bolder moves an emboldened Bush might take elsewhere in the world. The bombastic Joseph R. Biden, Jr., now admits that he was wrong to trust Bush when he voted for the Iraq War Resolution. Something about the death of Al-Zarqawi seems to have revived the senator's trust in Bush.

Or perhaps this is just all clever strategy on the part of the bombastic Joseph R. Biden, Jr.--a strategy designed to show how happy we Democrats are that Al-Zarqawi was finally killed, so happy, in fact, that in a moment of giddy patriotism we even wish the President further international successes. Gee, why didn't I think of that?

Bombastic Joe Biden, who used to be called "the Senator from MBNA" until that horrid Delaware-based bank/credit card company was bought out by BofA, is also expected to be "Democratic presidential hopeful" Joe Biden.

It almost makes one think good thoughts about Hillary.

After the capture of Saddam H., Biden remarked to Dan Rather:

"If this means the President wins re-election in a landslide, so be it."

I couldn't believe a Democrat would belch up a sentence like that. Have despised him ever since.

Hopefully the

"we need a candidate who won't scare the middle, causing us to lose"

crowd will coalesce around one of these white bread milquetosts sooner rather than later -

hillary, biden, liberman, gephart ... wtfo

so everyone else can spend their time on Howard, or, the next Howard.

opps, I mean a real Dem, or, the next real Dem.
