I-933 Opponents are Insane: Official Stance of CItizen's Alliance for Property Rights?

Below the fold I've reproduced a letter signed by an I-933 proponent in the King County Journal today.  As right-wing people often seem to do, it equates a liberal viewpoint with insanity and communism. This is actually a fitting followup to my post from last week, wherein an I-933 property rights advocate urged her cohorts to destroy private property.

This letter, a little foray into the dark side of I-933's property-rights rhetoric (omg, can you imagine their meetings?  How depressing!), is signed by Louis Finney from Kirkland.  Now there happens to be in Washington State, a right-wing activist who has created a database that reveals personal information of many of our state's residents.  On a couple of tips, I checked there and saw that Louis lives in the same apartment in Kirkland, Washington as Judith Finney, the secretary for Citizens' Alliance for Property Rights Legal Fund.  This fund has contributed $7,342 to I-933, according to the Wahington Public Disclosure Database.  So I'm sending a note off to the CAPR group (info@proprights.org) to ask them if this is their official stance.  I'll send them a link to this blog entry and we can see if they reply.

By the way, King County Journal often prints letters that accuse liberals of being insane, murderous, and Communistic.  See below the fold of my Challenge to 3 Republicans: Fund a Correction to a Republican Sex Smear.

Liberal mistakes

  • Liberals, Progressives, Socialists and Communists make the same mistakes.
  • They cannot understand how liberty makes people productive and innovative.
  • It is beyond their capacity to grasp that citizens who exercise their rights are generally responsible.
  • It is an inscrutable mystery to them how less government results in a higher quality, greater gross national product.
  • It is outside the realm of their reality that the government should be required to do what the constitution requires.
  • These people have a brain malfunction that cannot comprehend that not paying for something that belongs to someone else is called stealing.
  • This thinking disorder of Liberal, Progressive, Socialist Communists cannot envision a government that is of the people by the people and for the people.
  • Like most mental disorders, there is a cause and a cure. This disease is induced by the indoctrination process that can only be cured by the long-term re-education or the shock of realizing that they have been duped.
  • Initiative 933 gives them the opportunity for repudiation. Vote YES! and be healed.
  • You may never have to go back into the asylum again.

Your friend, a former inmate on permanent release,

Louis F. Finney
Kirkland

By the way, just for kicks, here are a few posts I've done on what I see as some pretty scornful hijinks by our right-wing neighbors:

Now I can vouch for Switzer being insane, and since he's probably a 933 opponent, that makes your title correct.
But otherwise I think you need to change the title of your post.  :-)

Yo, gang, check out my post on I-933 - some con named "spit in the ocean" came by and left a poorly formatted comment with the straw man argument of (not an exact quote):

"You dang liberals don't want us to build houses on our property!"

I tried to deliver a sensible and fairly passionate response.  Feel free to join the conversation!

Peace,
