Baird is called a "Bush Dog" democrat on this site. Move-on sent out invitations to call and write to Baird this summer concerning his change of heart--he went from anti-war to now wanting to extend the illegal occupation of Iraq. He has had a couple of very heated town hall meetings down in southwest Washington with his constituents. On top of that, I just got notice from MegaVote that Baird just voted in favor of the Peru Free Trade Agreement.
My question is: is anyone planning to run as a Democrat in a primary race against Baird? A good primary candidate might be able to win because of the constituent dismay over some of his positions, and then we'd end up with a more Progressive Dem. in the House. It might be a bad idea, because it could split the Democrat vote and then a Republican could win it. It might depend on who the primary challenger was.
Would love your comments on whether you think this is feasable or not.
