It will get out of the committee. Anyone want to start a pool on if Pam Roach will even attend the hearing?
Then it will have until March 14 to get out of the Rules COmmittee and past the Senate Floor.
Kohl-Wells, Fraser, Kline and Regala are on Rules. Any idea how Lisa Brown feels on this issue?

from Linda:

"Friends of Impeachment:
Our goal is 1,000 supporters in Olympia for the rally and hearing for  Eric Oemig's resolution on March 1st.

We need some help getting people down to Olympia.  Would you be able to help organize charter bus service and/or car pooling down to
Olympia for March 1st?

At the very least, could you be responsible for one charter bus going  down from  your community??  Maybe we could get one person from 10 communities to charter a bus for 47 people.

Can you suggest who those people in other communities would be?

I am forwarding Susan A's e-mail about charter bus service:

Hello Linda.  I do not have time to work on chartering a bus or buses for this.  The people I
worked with are Bob and Linda Prinke at Chinook Charter Services. Phone is 425 743-1300, email bob@chinookbus.com.  They are terrific.  The
buses for Ft. Lewis were $613 for 47 passengers.  I added a tip which made it $16 per
person.
"

I went to Ft. Lewis on one of these Chinook buses and it was very comfortable. I don't know the first thing about organizing such, but am willing to help. Like Linda, I really want this pro-impeachment rally to be a huge deal, as befitting a historic event fueled by public unrest.

Carpooling: Do you plan to drive and have you got room for passengers (who will share expenses, of course)?

I believe that trying to impeach them shows a lot of strength. Kenneth Starr tried impeaching Clinton for a lot less.

We also need to be paying more attention to global poverty which is at the root of the problem of terrorism. Let's tell our representatives that not only do we want Bush impeached but we would like more money spent on foreign aid.

This letter is going out to Murray and Cantwell today:

Dear Senators Murray and Cantwell:

Do you remember what happened in November, 2006? I hope that you do.

The American people stated very plainly that they are sick and tired of the war in Iraq. Did that message get through to you, to the Democrats?

The war could be ended if funding for the war were cut. Obviously, only a mere handful of Democrats have the courage to do something like that.

For the cowardly the following is possible:

Iimpeach Bush and Cheney and replace them with an anti-war Democrat or Republican acceptable to Congress. Oops, I forgot, the great majority of Democrats are too cowardly to do that.

Filibuster. Oops, I forgot, no one had the courage to filibuster John Roberts for the Supreme Court. They couldn't even muster up enough huevos to filibuster Sam Alito.

Well. Perhaps Democrats could demand that the excessive tax cuts to the super rich be rescinded, to pay for the enormous expense of our involvement in Iraq. Oops, the Dems don't have the guts to do that either.

Well, I guess the only thing to do is to start impeachment proceedings at the state level. That's the only place where legislators might be listening to what the people of America said in November of last year.

Oh, by the way, please be so kind as to tell your friends in the DLC, whom you slavishly obey, to go do a very impolite thing to themselves, to borrow a quaint phrase from Dicky Cheney cleaned up.
