Randy Gordon sends word that the
Lehto and Wells v. Sequoia and Snohomish County lawsuit comes to trial next month.
I am arguing my case regarding touch screen voting in Snohomish County in the Court of Appeals, Division 1, at the One Union Square Bldg, 600 University Street, Seattle, WA (Ct. of Appeals in the lobby level) on April 18th at 9:30 a.m. or so.
I believe that it was an unconstitutional delegation to have the counting of votes delegated to a black box.
See everyone there. [Hat tip to eridani.]
As I understand things, the two claims that most interest me are
- using the computerized voting machines are a secret vote count and that's unconstitutional in our state
- the Sequoia machines used by Sno Co didn't perform as advertised, voiding the warranty
The lawsuit was filed about 2 years ago. They were among the first to raise the alarm about the computerized voting machines. Now, of course, it's conventional wisdom.
Randy and Paul Lehto were interviewed on Mike McCormick's Mind Over Matters a while back. Mike's thoughtfully provided an archive (scroll down). Additional references can be found by searching with google.
