Pelosi's statesmanship, Obama's $, and the Bush/Clinton dynasty

The New York Times reports on Nancy Pelosi's trip to Syria.  If Bush and Cheney are impeached, we'll have President Pelosi.  Her move is a mark of statesmanship, a sign to the world that she recognizes her role.  And it's a brilliant demonstration that the Bush administration is on its way out - increasingly less relevant, tho ever more malignant.

Note to legislature and country: keep on investigating, keep on agitating for impeachment.

Obama has raised $25 million in the first quarter of the year -- roughly equivalent with Hillary's $26 million.     Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton.  We've had this two-family rule since 1980.  Electing Hillary would give us more than 3-decades of rule by two American families.  Presidents have access to information of the highest level of secrecy and national interest -- and are subject to pressures and influences on a scale beyond any other.  Ain't it a bit dangerous to keep power in two families like that -- particularly families so invested in the health and prosperity of huge multinational corporations?

The Clintons had their eight years. I don't want them back. Let them serve their country in other ways.

If Clinton is the nominee, it'll prove to the world that you can't run for president of the U.S. unless you're related to a former president.

What makes me uncomfortable is I suspect massive deals are being made behind the scenes. The Clintons and Daddy Bush are too cozy. I trust none of them.

By the way Noemie, I thought you were worried that non-local presidential election stories would take over Washblog? So I guess it's okay to post that topic?

Howie in Seattle has more.

Obama raised more $ for the primary than Clinton, got 100,000 individual donations (to Clinton's 50,000), and raised much more $ on the Internet thatn Clinton did.
