The Tacoma Progressive Roundtable is sponsoring an event for the Highlander Research and Education Center's 75th Anniversary on August 4th.  Guy and Candie Carawan, who have published many books and recorded and released many albums, as well as being political activists, are going to be performing.  It's Guy's 80th birthday as well.  He served as the music director of Highlander in the 60's and 70's.

Our featured speaker is a professor at UW, Tacoma, who has been to Highlander, Mike Honey.  He will be followed by a documentary produced by the Carawan's daughter, Heather, who is an independent filmmaker now based in Tacoma.  Guy and Candie's performance will follow thereafter.
