The first review of David Sirota's new book,
"The Uprising: An Unauthorized Tour of the Populist Revolt Scaring Wall Street and Washington" is in and it should come as no surprise that the news is good.
The widely respected
"Publishers Weekly" published its review of Sirota's latest work just hours ago saying,
"... the author weaves entertaining case studies, keeping his tone conversational, the narrative fast-paced and the content accessible." and
"... Sirota hits numerous high notes..."
Sirota, whose first book, the best selling "Hostile Takeover", provided a thorough accounting of how our government has been systematically sold out to the highest bidders, follows up with "The Uprising", a firsthand investigative reporting of how ordinary citizens' groups have been fighting back and how populism has become a dominant political force in both national and local politics.
The book, due to be released on May 27th, may be pre-ordered via Amazon , Barnes and Noble and others. Sirota will be embarking on a promotional book tour from coast to coast; beginning on May 27th in Burlington, Vermont. I am very pleased to note that he will be in Seattle at Elliot Bay Book Company on June 12th. (Co-sponsored by Washington Alliance of Technology Workers, SEIU 775, and our friends at Fuse Washington.)
In a personal "sneak peek" into the book, Sirota tells me in a personal email that "The Uprising", "... includes sections that I'm sure will have some very serious local interest. It includes an entire chapter on unionization efforts in the Pacific Northwest, along with a whole chapter on the use of online organizing." You can join the "Uprising" Book Club and RSVP to attend one of the book signing events here.
