Countdown to Change - WA?

[editor's note, by Arthur Ruger]: Excellent idea. Anybody have time to contribute?

"Three Rhode Island Blogs Launch "Countdown to Change" to
Monitor the First 100 Hours of the New Congress"

http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/12/29/141256/58

"In an unprecedented act of web-based collaboration, three of Rhode Island's most popular Blogs, RIFuture.org, Kmareka.com, and Pat-Crowley.org, announce that they will provide collective coverage of the first 100 hours of the new Democratic Congress to provide Rhode Islanders with immediate and comprehensive access to the actions of Rhode Island's four Democratic Congressmen and the new Democratic Congress.

During the fall campaign, Democratic leaders promised to make substantial changes during the first 100 hours of the 110th Congress in 7 key areas: Lobbying reform and fiscal accountability; Increasing the Minimum Wage; Making college more affordable; Making health care more affordable by passing legislation to negotiate lower prescription drug prices; Allowing stem cell research; Implementing the 9/11 recommendations and Rolling back subsidies to the big oil companies.

The three Bloggers have agreed to work together to discover if Congress will enact the changes that will put America on a better course for working families, the elderly, college students, and healthcare consumers."

IF others are interested,

I'd volunteer to monitor some of the 100 hours and some subset of the legislation.

(as some of you know, I am, at best, contemptuous of the effectiveness of the DC Dems.  I would LOVE them to PROVE me wrong.)

This 2 week headache / fever flu thing still has me in space, so, I haven't really thought about how to organize critical specifics:

who does what
what does who do
how does who do what
when does who do what
where does who do what

(some of you may know - I was a cook / chef for 15 years, and I hate high level big picture powerpoint vague 'genius' management crap. I have almost ZERO interest in ideas with NO critical specifics such as: who, what, when, where, how.)

Poll

is this a cool idea?
how dare we question Dems?
What, me worry?
sing "my favorite things" if you are sad
it is so good that I am going to claim it as my idea.
will it interfere with football?

Last night did my first "live blogging" following the execution of George's Excuse ... chasing around assorted sites to get more info and confirm what someone else had published.

Dan Kirkdorffer,
On the Road to 2008 would be a good one for this.

What they inwardly imagine is the only thing they'll accept.

lobbying reform,
college,
minimum wage.

all the issues interest me, but, is seems like there are people here who follow the other stuff more than I do, and it seems stupid to try to get up to speed on an issue that someone else has a lot of knowledge of already.

What should I do?

  1. is 100 hours = 100 hours of congress in session = weeks of time,

  2. or, 100 hours = the first 100 hours after they are sworn in?

IF it is #2, I'll update a thread pertaining to my issue in a "countdown to change" diary at least once a day.

IF it is #1, I'll update a thread pertaining to my issue in a "countdown to change" diary at least every 3 days, as 100 hours of congress in session will take weeks to accomplish.

Who? Me.

What? Update a diary thread pertaining to 1 of the issues ( that means 7 threads, each updated by one of us.

How? read the news / post links to gossip / post links  to votes.

When? every 1 day or every 3 days.

Where? from mummy's basement in my p.j.s
