Seattle Weekly: Breaking the tough stories

What?  This is alt-journalism?  Real Change issues Seattle Weekly snark attack alert

The Seattle Weekly seems to be working up a snarky attack story on Real Change. See the pre-emptive response Seattle Weekly: What the Fuck? that Real Change ED Tim Harris posted to his blog last night.

When the best thing that "alt-journalists" can find to write about is that some formerly homeless vendors are too successful for the comfort zones of liberal Seattle, they've become part of the problem.

We'll see what they wind up publishing next Wednesday.

I just read about this over on HA. Seems like things have sort of been going from bad to worse at Seattle Weekly under the new management/ownership, but denigrating the few Real Change vendors who make $20,000 a year for making too much money, might be a new low.

Should anyone want to contact the editors to ask if they will be publishing this story and why:
Mike Seeley, Managing Editor
mseely@seattleweekly.com

The other editors can be contacted via webforms here. There doesn't seem to be a way to contact the reporter, Huan Hsu.

Could the Weekly perceive Real Change as a competing paper?

Dear Mr. Seely,

I'm looking forward to reading Seattle Weekly's expose of how much money Real Change vendors make selling these papers.  I'll be sure we get a followup on Washblog.

Sincerely,

Noemie Maxwell
