DFA Campaign Training in Kent in Feb

Wanna learn how to be a more effective political activist?

There's a Democracy for America Training Academy in the Seattle area next month. It's taking place on February 23-24 at the IBEW Hall in Kent.

The DFA Training Academy empowers ordinary citizens to manage successful campaigns and even run for office themselves. Taught by experienced professionals and co-organized by local DFA volunteers, the DFA Training Academy is designed to fit the needs of local grassroots activists like you.

There is also a training at Sea-Tac that is closer to Pierce County activists.

Officially I'm host of West Seattle DFA, but we haven't been meeting for over a year. I took a hiatus from organizer duties after 2 years, and no one else wanted to step up to the plate. In the meantime a bunch more people that I don't know have signed up, some not even from this state.

I have concentrated on volunteer work for Washington Public Campaigns, 34th District Dems, WA State pro-Impeachment, John Edwards campaign, and other things.

Still, I feel guilty about letting the DFA group languish - that kicks in every time I get a communication from DFA headquarters.

I'll notify my (former) group about this, maybe several of us could go.
