Obama Mania Hits Washington

Sen. Obama comes to washington state, gets backing from labor union.

Its 11:00 AM on a Friday morning, Sen. Barack Obama is going to be at Key Arena, where are you going to be?

That's right, Sen. Obama will be in Seattle just a day before the Democratic Caucuses and all you have to do is drop by http://my.barackobama.com... and RSVP to attend the rally.

After a truly super Tuesday, one which could have sent Obama home, he managed to keep the race tight with Sen. Clinton, making our fair state that much more pivotal in the race for the Democratic Nomination.

As the Seattle Times puts it:
"In many of the states Clinton won, Obama surged from far behind to narrow the gap in the days before Super Tuesday. Her ability to hold off his charge brought a sense of relief to her campaign advisers, but the results were also a sign that their roller-coaster competition would continue."

In other Obama related news, the Illinois Senator has received an official endorsement from our state's largest labor group, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Originally pledged to support John Edwards, a unanimous vote moved their support in favor of Obama.

The endorsement has big implications for Obama who can receive a lot of grassroots support just before a pivotal caucus.

Reports the Seattle Times:
"Glickman said the union would be making tens of thousands of calls to its members over the next three days to urge support for Obama. He said the calls also are intended to make sure members understand that -- in order to have a say in choosing Democratic delegates -- they have to participate in the caucuses."

It's expected that our state will be fairly divided in support of either Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama, however I am hopeful that the endorsement, coupled with a key rally should gain Mr. Obama some support. I am hopeful that the residents of this state will jump on the bandwagon of Obama, but that is really up to Saturday to decide. But seriously people, Sen. Obama has more realistic takes on health care, and he has the charisma to make things happen in Washington D.C. so lets give him a chance.

I personally will be at a Caucus this Saturday hoping to rally support for Sen. Obama and I encourage everyone to do the same, no matter which candidate you support. If you do like to rock with Barack however get out there and support the man.
