A Progressive Candidate in Puyallup????

Hard to believe, but there are more Progressives in Puyallup than just Dawn Morell. Larry Pratt, co-chair of the Progressive Party of Washington is running for State Representative in the 25th district, position 2. This puts him in as the only non-Republican running for this spot. For his platform, see http://www.waprogparty.org under, "platform".
He is working for a DFA endorsement, and you can help by going to Democracy for America's Pratt for Progress to add your support.
You might even tell others, or even volunteer.

There's a Democrat in the race, and he looks like a good new face with a background we could use more of.

He's Rob Cerqui, Mayor pro tem and City Council member in Fife. Rob is a third-generation farmer in the Puyallup Valley.

Rob has the support of the House Democratic Campaign Committee and was nominated last week by the 25th District Democrats.

At that meeting, Rob staked out a strong position for protecting working farmland close to Seattle and Tacoma from encroachment of development, and for providing stong environmental protections for that land. Rob is totally pro-union and supports full funding for education.

Rob will have to work hard to beat the well-funded Republican, Bruce Dammeier, who serves on the Puyallup School Board. But this is an open seat in a swing District, and it is up for grabs.

If perception is reality, then the world must be flat and the sun must revolve around it.
