[ED Note, 4/11/07: You Googlers lookin' for info on Carl Rove's upcoming visit to Seattle: It's Saturday, April 14, 6:30 p.m. at the Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center in Sea-Tac. Goldy has a piece on it here: Welcome Karl Rove.]

Karl Rove's name are words that produce an instantaneous emotional reaction -- revulsion, anxiety, etc. Rove has been instrumental in planning and advancing the Bush ravages: the trashing of the economy and environment, state-sponsored torture, misuse and corruption of American soldiers, stolen elections, a war on false pretenses, manipulated media, secret wiretapping of citizens, secret propaganda used against the American people, science twisted and suppressed, death threats against judges, the undermining of state sovereignty across the nation, a ruined American city through gross and possibly purposeful negligence. Rove's at the center of it all, the potential dawning of a Dark Ages for our country -- and a wild climate ride for the world.  Sociopathic and reckless beyond compare.

I wonder, in reflecting upon this, don't the Republican strategists who brought Karl Rove here to support Dave Reichert -- don't they understand the emotional impact of bringing such a person to Seattle?  This, essentially, is a fundraiser for Darcy Burner.  And it's a big advertisement to the public on Reichert's ties to the worst elements in this administration. Seems like a dumb move to me. I can't help but think that this is part of the "Big Lie" that is being sold to US Citizens. Do great wrong -- and then pretend that everything is normal. Pretty soon, we are able to tolerate the worst.
