 of second-degree negligent driving and failing to report a collision. He was facing charges of reckless driving but of course those charges were dismissed this being Douglas County home of the Good Old Boy team and all. Wouldn't look good to have our home boy county commissioner charged with nearly scaring two of his constituents to death as he swerved towards them and ran them off of the road.
Commissioner Keane is still on leave of absence but he will apparently be returning to work Monday bright eyed and bushy tailed in his newly repaired county SUV.
Keane is not commenting on the case...I mean what is there to say? If people don't like the way he drives them they need to stay off of the road and quit making carwashes with exits in them....like DUH! how confusing!
He will issue a statement to  county employees and his constituents when he gets settled back into his $53,000.00 a year job ( he voted himself and the other two commissioners in a 12% pay raise the last time he was elected) plus all of the free body work you need job. I am sure he will have a perfectly good excuse for his actions.
What is really sad is that Commissioners Ken Stanton and Mary Hunt will play along in the "Don't Blame Dane" game. All three should be tossed out and people that enforce the law and are responsible to the Douglas County taxpayers elected in to office in their place.
