Faith and Freedom try to spin their way out of bad poll numbers

Over at the Faith and Freedom blog, they're pointing to new Elway polling numbers that show support for SB 5336, the domestic partnership bill.
In general, do you favor homosexual couples having many of the same legal rights as married couples? Or are there valid reasons for treating marriage as a unique relationship with unique legal benefits?
- Same Legal Rights 47%
- Unique Legal Benefits 38%
- Don't Know/No Answer 16%
They're not convinced that 47 in favor and 38 against the bill is bad news for them:
Faith & Freedom Network and Positive Christian Agenda has just received a proprietary report done by Elway Research in late March 2007 which suggests that less than half the public actually supports granting the rights being proposed in SB 5336. It also suggests that existing support for marital-type rights for homosexuals is highly subject to erosion.
So, 10+ percent more people in Washington believe that the same legal rights should be extended to all people, and the Faith and Freedom folks consider this weak support? I guess if you pay for a poll that shows only just more than third of people actually supporting your position, you have to explain that away somehow.
