In regard to H.R. 5244, Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights Act of 2008, recently introduced by Caroline Maloney, (NY-14)...
Baird, Inslee and McDermott were among the 155 co-sponsors.
The purpose of this bill?
To amend the Truth in Lending Act to establish fair and transparent practices relating to the extension of credit under an open end consumer credit plan, and for other purposes.
Constituent and people welfare.
As opposed to corporate welfare.
Adam Smith (WA-09)? Where does he stand on this bill? Is he for the people, his constituents? Or, is he firmly in the camp of corporations?
The same may be asked of Rick Larsen, (WA-02), and Norm Dicks, (WA-06).
Also, I've been waiting to see where Smith, not to mention the good Senators Murray and Cantwell, come down on the economic meltdown that began massively on Black Monday, September 15, 2008, and continues.
