Let's not kid ourselves about what is at stake in the special election for King County Elections Director on February 3rd. We cannot afford to split the Democratic vote and give the office to one of the Republicans running for that office. The reason they are running is to make voting as difficult and unpleasant as possible for King County voters, particularly lower income, minority and homeless voters. Republican officeholders are committed to the notion that voting is not actually a citizenship right and privilege, but a carnival kewpie doll prize that you can only win by getting past all the barriers they put in your way. As you know we need an elections director who will ensure transparent and accountable elections, but this critical campaign is not on most voters' radar.
Jason Osgood has endorsed her. Do the math--splitting the Dem vote with Huff, Anderson and Kempf three ways loses to splitting the Republican vote two ways between Irons and Roach.

Irons has raised $115,000 and Huff $21,000 so far. And only 14% of ballots have been turned in yet.
