Where has Patty Murray Been?

This is really just a question.

Where has Patty Murray been this year in the campaign? Maybe my mind is addled, but it just occurred to me that I don't remember much mention of her this campaign season.

in Vancouver at a rally the Longshore Union Hall and, apparently out doing things related to her 'day job', such as meeting with senior citizens in Sequim about Medicare Plan D
and veterans in Port Angeles about healthcare issues, both on 10/31.

Patty's been in Pierce County meeting with Veterans and local elected officials.  Also, helping some legislative candidates raise money by headlining some fundraising events.

I could have said the same thing about Maria two years ago.  I hardly saw her at all during the 2004 cycle.

With regards to those pictures...

Theyr'e jokes, they're in jest, and were not meant to offend.  She's working hard for Democrats.

I'm not calling Washington's senior senator a 'bitch'.  The "beyotch" is actually aimed at our boy dlaw.

Anyone who is emailing Noemie Maxwell should relax.

of dead soldiers at Gettysburg and the soldiers in WWII that were posted here by a commenter.   They were here for a few hours only, and I regret that I didn't have the sensitivity to delete them as soon as I saw them.

We live in violent times with the ghosts of soldiers all around us.  We all have the right to use the images that are part of our heritage to speak to today's situation, even if we do it in a joking way.  So I don't take it upon myself to criticize or question the motives of the person who posted these pictures.  I do take it upon myself, however, as an act of respect and protectiveness toward veterans, soldiers, and their families to remove the pictures.

The light bulb went on for me about this particular use of images of dead American soldiers as soon as I read a letter from a veteran, which was sent to Washblog editors this morning.  He perceived this use as profoundly insulting.

I don't "get" the satire in these pictures, or the point of them.  I did, on the other hand, immediately get why they were insulting to the veteran who wrote me -- and how they could be hurtful to anyone who tuned in here during this time of war who has family members who are serving or who have been injured or killed.

The poll at your expense seems a little like piling on. You gonna run for Party office? What's your platform?
