Unwelcome Wagon

[Front paged. NM. I hope there's a big crowd!]

Tomorrow, April 17th, "Deadeye" Dick Cheney will be in Everett to help raise money and attention for the poor guy who has volunteered to be this year's GOP loser to Rick Larsen in the 2nd CD. I hope that you can join me and some of my friends - Everett Peace Action, Progressive Caucus of Snohomish County Democrats, and more - in forming an "unwelcome wagon" for Mr. Cheney and his friend Dave Reichert, the soon to be one-term republican from the 8th CD. (Reichert was added at the last minute)

Because we do not know where the "Free Speech Police" will allow us to stand, I am recommending that we gather between 8:30 and 9:00AM in the Denny's parking lot (Pacific and Pine) directly across from the Holiday Inn where the event will be taking place. The doors will open for the attendees at 10AM. Cheney will be leaving from the event for Spokane where he will be standing for photo ops with "Slade" McGavick, who will be challenging our Democratic nominee for US Senate. It would be good to have many of us outside to give him a good send-off.

Recommended attire is bright colors (hunting or traffic control vests if you have them). Also, we need as many American flags with us as we can bring. It is time to show "Big Dick" Cheney that he does not own our flag.

Hope to see you in the morning.

Peace,

Chad (The Left) Shue

up north in Spokane. Peace and Justice Action League of Spokane is organizing one protest and the Spokane Democrats with the Democratic Combined Campaign are planning another. What is he doing in Everett to make it an "Official" trip so they can bill the taxpayers instead of Mike's campaign? Dick's gonna greet the troops at Fairchild Air Base without McGavick before heading in to the Marie Antoinette room at the Davenport for the major donors. While Dick and the insurance executive are fine dining, the Democrats are:
Important Information: While some will be paying $2100 to get a picture with Cheney, we will be collecting donations at the picket to give to a local food bank. If you can afford to contribute please bring your donation with you! (Please also note money collected at the protest will not be used for political purposes and will go directly to the food bank).
Of course the dining might not be so fine, last time Bush was in town, the participants weren't even allowed plastic knives and forks. It was finger food all the way.

the coordination of the counter demonstrations against Darth, in particular:

the easy to use web site so people could easily find out

  • where to meet,
  • when to meet,
  • what the rules outta be,
  • how to do things the best way,
  • who to contact on the web on a blog so NO ONE would have to rely on a single point of contact / failure for information.

just kidding !

we all know that "grassroots" = people being told what to do and when to do, primarily to phonebank to get money.
