The NSA's next step?

Ok, crazy idea here. This NSA program was revealed years after its creation. What else could be tracked? What is preventing the NSA from keeping track of who sends regular letters through the Post Office, and who receives them? Anyone with half a brain knows that telephone records are kept, so they wouldn't use it. But the Post Office is open territory. Can we get assurance that our letters are not being tracked? Maybe they can't open them, but they can see who is sending and who is receiving... Imagine what could be done with that information.
Just brainstorming...
Telephones, Email, Post Office, Blog Posts, local activist group meetings, ...
What else can we think of that the NSA might want to be able to track, and where to do we go to find out if this tracking is already taking place? Maybe we should start asking Congress. Because you know they're thinking as far into the future as they can. So should we...
