Oh! Feingold visits, Prell picnics - go see it all!
Wanted to share a couple events that I think are important for Washbloggers to take part in:
First, many of you may have heard that Russ Feingold is coming to Seattle this Saturday to support Maria Cantwell. The twist they've put on the visit, which I think is a tremendous use of activist energy, is that after the rally they're sending folks out into the neighborhood to canvass for Cantwell. Switzer says ALL political rallies should be immediately followed by a canvass, but who's listening to me? Clearly no one, as I distinctly recall telling everyone to vote for Dean at their caucuses. (We see how well that went...) Anyhoo, here's the scoop: This Saturday, May 20, at Whittier Elementary School (1320 NW 75th St., Seattle) at 12:30pm. If you'd like to hear Senator Feingold and/or canvass, contact the Coordinated campaign. When I get back to Switzer's Stately Manor later this evening, I'll upload the flyer and link it so's you can see all the fun you'll have (if'n you go). Next, I'd like to invite you to a fundraiser for a fellow friend in the blogosphere, titled "The blogosphere: is it the future or the end?" - click "Full story" to get the info...
"The blogosphere: is it the future or the end?"
This picnic will benefit BlatherWatch, written by Michael Hood, who listens to talk radio so you don't have to. Goldy from HA will be there, as will David Neiwert of Orcinus, and their special guest is Allan Prell - nemesis of radio snob willisreed and adopted by BlatherWatch when he was fired unceremoniously from KIRO. You've gotta go meet Allan. The scoop: May 24th, 6 to 8pm at the home of Walt Crowley and Marie McCaffrey, and a suggested donation of $50. For RSVP info, look at the graphical greatness of the actual invitation at Walt's website.
