Health Insurance != Health Care

Laws and morality are not the same: no news here.
Cascade Eye and Skin Centers has a policy of no records released for 7 to 10 days. That includes to the patient, who is actually the
only entity legally entitled to request (ahem) demand records release. That includes if the patient were to make a request directly to the attending PA (who sees doctors nowadays?).
(RCW gives them 14 days)
"Eeeehhh, get your own tests done" would seem to be the attitude... even though the patient pays for it. (Rhetorical license for the rest of this paragraph, you've been warned!) But with insurance, the insurance company pays for it. Twice. And the patient gives that pound (or half gram) of flesh. Twice.
I think the insurance companies care about this.
More importantly.. and showing the growing rift between Profit and Health: every particular bit of flesh is a snapshot in time. It could matter.
It won't say that in anything you sign or the disclosures they're legally required to make to you.
Something to consider when choosing a health care provider... one more burden placed on the sick and injured by the sick and twisted transmogrification of health care into "health insurance".
(And if botox or a skin peel isn't the answer to your scabious lichenoid eczematous rickettsial....? Do you wanna go somewhere which isn't going to let anyone else look at their lab results?)
