From today's TNT we hear that Eyman and the Fagans will be collecting some checks for not really doing anything well:
Tim Eyman and his initiative partners will share a salary fund of more than $173,000 for their 2006 efforts, even though they failed to qualify for the ballot last year.Eyman said Wednesday that he and Jack and Mike Fagan, a father-son duo from Spokane who help run the conservative-leaning initiative factory, will split the money that contributors mailed to a compensation fund.
Eyman, the frontman and ubiquitous media personality who also runs a fraternity watch business from his Mukilteo home, will get $86,743. The Fagans each will get $43,367.
Eyman, who once got into trouble for secretly creating a salary fund from regular donations without telling backers, now keeps the salary fund separate from the campaign treasury.
The salary fund for Eyman and the Fagans, "Help Us Help Taxpayers" had only collected $59,000 between the mid-summer announcement by the trio that they wouldn't actually have anything on the ballot and December. Pretty small change compared to the $173,000 that they're now collecting.
Michael Dunmire came to the rescue and cut the guys a check for $100,000. Check out the PDC report here.
Yet again, the bulk of what is Tim Eyman's political juggernaught is actually only one person.
According to the PDC report, it seems like the guys rounded out their paychecks with $17k in "in kind" donations from the failed I-917 campaign.
