Lynn Woolsey coming to speak at Northwest Progressive Convention

Brothers and sisters:

I'm writing to invite you to America in Solidarity's first-ever Northwest Progressive Convention, co-sponsored by Seattle's Progressive Talk, AM 1090.

This event will be an opportunity for progressive and liberal activists from around the region to come together to talk about the biggest issues facing our nation.  From healthcare to the occupation of Iraq to corporate "free trade", this event will tackle serious issues and give ordinary working people the opportunity to challenge their so-called "leaders" on why we are still in Iraq and when our Congress will start doing the right thing for America.

Here's a little info on what will be happening at the Convention:

Keynote speaker Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, co-chair of the Out of Iraq Caucus in the House of Representatives and co-author of the most important anti-occupation bill currently before Congress;

Congressman Adam Smith, moderate Democratic congressman from Tacoma's 9th district, taking questions from the audience about the war and related issues;

Democratic challenger for the 8th District House race, Darcy Burner, part of a panel on protecting civil liberties;

General Paul Eaton, outspoken critic of the Bush administration's handling of the occupation of Iraq;

Two experts on free trade from the Washington Fair Trade Coalition;

Health Care for All Washington in a strategy-building workshop;

Volunteers from Washington Community Action Network in a workshop on immigration and the civil rights of workers;

A 2008 Presidential Straw Poll with short speeches from the campaigns;

An extended clip from the groundbreaking HBO documentary, "Hacking Democracy";

and plenty of opportunities to meet your fellow activists and lay the foundation for a nationwide movement against the conservative forces of darkness that have devoured this country for the last 26 years.

So how do you get a ticket to attend this incredible, once-in-a-lifetime event?

Just send a $20 check per person (which includes lunch, by the way) to:

America in Solidarity, 3049 S. 36th St #205, Tacoma, WA 98409

Or, check out our website where you can pay via Paypal.  Can't wait to see you there!
