Douglas County commissioners Hunt and Stanton have graciously given Commissioner Keane 30 days paid leave

over and above the 14 days they had already given him in order that he might do pain therapy . Since Keane's bad knee was the cause of two accidents in one morning I guess that is the least the commissioners could do. Douglas County land transportation head Jim Barker wasn't to be out done, he said the nearly $3000.00 in damages Keane and his bad knee did to the county rig will be paid by Douglas County or in plain language the tax payers. The Douglas County sheriff's department isn't as nice they are going to ticket Keane $154.00 for reckless driving, OUCH!!

The big question has been where is Keane? Family and coworkers have inferred as has the local media that he is in pain rehab at Chelan Washington. Knowing this I was surprised to see Keane's personal truck go by headed to town Thursday then back up about 45 minutes later. I assumed that maybe one of his kids was driving dad's rig while he was rehabbing. Today I watched as Keane's truck went up the hill towards his house with Keane driving and talking on his cell phone. I will assume that this was his personal phone as apparently the other commissioners took his county one away from him so he wouldn't continue to be such a workaholic.

So where is Keane? In rehab but then what is he doing driving around? At home? Then why infer he is at rehab? Maybe what Keane and those covering for him and enabling him should do is all come clean. Isn't that the first step in recovering from any addiction whether it is alcohol, drugs, or pain?
