It first started with her education package, then a cut back to the right with the rainy day fund, and then the Puget Sound cleanup. After all that she put out the whole package, her proposed budget for 2007-08.
And everyone reacted.
- Lynn over at Evergreen Politics points to probably the least paid attention to part of the governor's budget proposal, public financing of judicial races. She asks "Why stop there?" Why not, indeed. Democracy for Vancouver thinks public financing is an awesome idea too.
- Real Clear Politics makes fun of Gregoire's budget and the use of the term "investment." Oh well, they say we should be using the extra money to pay down our state budget deficit. Does Washington even have one of those?
- At Postaan's blog: Speaking of things right wingers can mock the governor about, even though Washington is 13th in tax cuts since the 90s, that liberal Gregoire isn't going to end any of those tax cuts. Oh, wait a sec, that's a good thing from their point of view.
- And, as always the NWProgBlog has a good roundup of the entire budget.
