open thread

Sorry I missed the open thread yesterday; Switzer's pretty deeply under the weather.  This means today's open thread will be darn skimpy, sorry!  Now, on to your opportunity to gripe/celebrate/talk about recipes/complain about ESPN's daytime programming choices.

  •  teacherken at DailyKos reaches the rec list with a piece on our own Peter Goldmark, candidate for the Congressional seat in the 5th CD currently help by Delay acolyte (she voted with the Hammer 100% of the time) Cathy McMorris.  Kooky Cathy replaced George Nethercutt when he decided to get spanked by Patty Murray and Nethercutt replaced Tom Foley, so don't tell me Democrats can't win out here.  Peter has the enthusiastic support of state Party chair Dwight Pelz and 2004 5th CD Democratic candidate Don Barbieri, so he'll get the help he needs - but he'll still need our involvement.

  •  More from Kos:  Jack Carter (Jimmy's son) got good news today - wacky to the point of being scary Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman has decided not to post a primary challenge.  Of course, I bring this up because YearlyKos is coming up in June, and I need to hear from anyone who's going so we can all catch up with each other in the desert.  See what a clunky segue I can produce?

  •  Darcy Burner has a wicked sense of humor.  HA!  Maybe she'll get a "go f*#k yourself" letter from the Office of the VP.

  •  If you live in Renton, you have my sympathies about your representation.

So here's my big plan:  I want to highlight Washbloggers' diaries at Kos, Booman, MLW, etc., but I don't know who everyone is.  So please use this open thread as an opportunity to share your handle at those places (and which blogs you post at), and I'll try to make the local "shout out" a part of the daily open thread.

Chicken soup is always good, and hot tea. But rest is the best medicine. You got that flu going around? Allergies?

And by the way, isn't Oscar Goodman the old boss from The 6 Million Dollar Man? Wouldn't he be like 100 years old now?
