DFA Endorsed Washingtonians

Democracy for America supports fiscally responsible, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government. That's why we are supporting Eric Oemig for State Senate, District 45, Chris Marr for State Senate, District 6 and Deb Eddy for State Representative, District 48.

Eric Oemig spent eight years as a software engineer with Microsoft. In 1999 he started Omega Labs; a firm specializing in research and development of foods for people with food allergies. He also created and hosted a public access television program shown across King County called Moral Politics. Eric is running because he wants to improve and support public education. He wants to heal our health care system, starting by ensuring that every child has access to quality health care, especially preventative health care. He also wants to fix the public transportation system.

Chris Marr built a successful local business on the values of honesty, hard work, and living within a budget. Chris learned these values from his mother who raised four kids alone, working two jobs to make ends meet. Chris has an impressive record of local and state community service and support of numerous non-profit and arts organizations. He currently serves on the Board of Regents for WSU and is past Chair of the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce. Chris is running to bring affordable health care, good schools, and a strong economy that provides jobs for the state of Washington. This has been a Republican seat since the 1930s but Chris is running a true grassroots campaign, already knocking on over 8,000 doors. Let's help him take this seat back.

Politically active for much of her life, Deb Eddy first ran for public office in 1993. She served for six years on the Kirkland city council -- two as mayor. She has also been a lawyer, community activist, and public policy expert. The experience Deb brings to the table is unmatched. Deb is running for state office because she believes that the legislature needs strong, effective and experienced leaders to address and resolve pressing issues such as education, transportation, and tax reform.

With your support, Eric Oemig, Chris Marr and Deb Eddy can win their elections and bring DFA values to the Washington State Legislature. Please visit their websites and help them in any way you can.

Thanks for helping our next generation of leaders succeed.

Sincerely,

Jim Dean
Chair
