[Update 6:20 AM. Looks like Gerry Alexander and Tom Chambers have almost certainly defeated Groen and Burrage. But in order for this race to be decided in the primary, one candidate has to get more than 50% of the vote. So it's likely we'll see Susan Owens and Steve Johnson continue on in the general election in November. In another victory in the Court of Appeals, Mary Kay Becker is winning in a landslide 65% to 35% over BIAW candidate Jeff Teichert.]
Well, it's early in the game yet, at 9:39 pm, with only about 5% of King County counted (more for other counties -- about 43% of the vote overall has been counted). But there are some pretty substantial margins here. It looks like truth, justice, and the American Way may prevail this year for Washington State's Supreme Court races. So far, the biggest margin weighs against Jeannette Burrage, the judge who required women attorneys to wear skirts in her courtroom. I hope this bodes well for I-933 to "go down in flames" - as I heard someone predict the other day. King 5 TV has a handy table The figures below are from Washington's Primary Elections Results page at 9:40 PM:
