Information about Transportation to and Rally at Watada Trial

Eastside Peace and Justice Activist, Susan Arndt, is helping to arrange transportation for folks planning to rally at Fort Lewis on February 5th in support of Lt. Ehren Watada:

Join us on the bus to Ft. Lewis to support Ehren Watada

Many of you have expressed interest in going to Ft. Lewis to support Ehren Watada at his court martial trial.  I have reserved a bus to go from the South Kirkland Park & Ride at 10:00 on Monday, February 5th and returning around 7 PM.   If we fill the bus, the cost will be approximately $16/person.

The company I reserved with, Chinook Charter Service is very supportive of Ehren. They said we can bring signs and food, and they said they would send one of their nicest coaches.  There is a restroom on board.  We will be able to get back on the bus any time during the day to warm up, use the restroom, etc.  Please let me know right away if you want a seat on the bus.  You can send me a check (made out to Susan Arndt) for you seats ($16/each) now and if we have to adjust the amount up or down, we can do it on the bus.  My address is:
Susan Arndt

Kirkland, WA  98033

Or, you may phone Karen Konzen at 425 246-7915

In addition to the above information, Susan now says:

I am trying to reach a woman in Everett named Laurel who wants to set up a charter bus, I think.  She evidently has been working with the VFP group. There is also a bus coming from points north that could stop and pick up Everett folks.

The best source of information for transportation is www.thankyoult.org. There is a transportation section and the link to buses and carpools should be working by now, or very shortly.  It will be updated frequently so people should know to check back if they don't find something that works for them right away.

Susan also passes along the following information:

Schedule of the day
9am - Military Court Martial begins
11:30am - Student Rally with Iraq Veterans Against the War
1pm - Political Art Performance
3pm Rally and Vigil

We will provide coffee, pastries and spaces to warm up from the cold. Bring a lunch, snacks, signs and a peaceful positive attitude. Dress warm wear heavy/rain coats, hats, scarves and gloves. For more info and to volunteer email: action@ltwatada.org

Peace,
Chad (The Left) Shue

thanks for posting the info; will you be going and if so, will you be live-blogging the day's activities and reports?

After how well Washblog did live reporting on the Citizens' Hearing, I find I look forward to more factual reporting from the Washbloggers - courageous citizen reporters hard at work!
