Good post over at Cool Aqua about Rep. Reichart shouting praise for good environmental legislating, while at the same time, doing all he can to fall down the stairs on evironmental legislating:
Our Congressmen are elected to help write and pass laws, within the US Congress. Apparently Doc Hastings and Cathy McMorris, and to a lesser extent Dave Reichert, were unsuccessful in their roles of congressmen, not having been able to pass laws to improve cafe standards while in office with a Republican Majority.
In fact, I believe the record shows that Republican Dave Reichert actively fought several energy saving initiatives as noted in Evergreen Politics "Dave Reichert Opposes Reducing the Nations Dependence on Foreign Oil". The record seems to show that Reichert talks a good talk on energy, but will only vote to support Republican initiatives in this area. Should an energy saving measure be proposed by a Democrat, Reichert will probably vote against it as shown in the following example.
