A quick review of the money flowing into initiative campaigns paints a pretty compelling picture:
- Tim Eyman's I-960 is the only initiative campaign getting any serious money.
- Mike Dunsmire (and here) has donated $350,000 of the just more than $400,000 donated to I-960.
Because I-960 is the latest and most extreme example of Tim Eyman's weird and dangerous approach to the initiative process, I'm not surprised that his fundraising reflects that. Steve Zemke has a great run down on the history of this initiative and why only one person (one really rich person), and not a popular movement, would want to get it on the ballot. The "Minority Rules" initiative gets its funding from a Minority Source.
