I am delighted to announce that the Mukilteo City Council approved the broad outlines of a significant investment in the city's road and parks infrastructure. The proposed $39 million package would leverage existing revenues and propose a special tax levy for local projects.
The comprehensive approach to community-wide improvements aims to spread the benefits to all areas of the city and the various demographic groups that use roads and parks facilities. People of all walks of life, and all ages, deserve to move freely and enjoy our beautiful community.
Since joining the Council in 2006, it has been a high priority to target serious deficiencies in our transportation system and protect parks and open space. If this investment package is approved by voters, it will transform our city and drastically improve the quality of life in Mukilteo.
