Progressive Caucus events in Richland

The Progressive Caucus will be holding a barbecue potluck on Friday, June 29th from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in Richland, WA (the night before the quarterly WA State Democrats Central Committee meeting). The potluck will be held at the John Dam Plaza, across the street from the Red Lion Inn (802 George Washington Way), where the evening's hospitality suites will be hosted later. We will have a grill available and will provide hot dogs, and beef, chicken and veggie patties.  If you are able, please bring beverages, salads and desserts and/or $10.  Can't get it together to bring food?  Short on funds? Come anyway--there's always more than enough food!

Before you stop by for something to eat, we invite you to take part in  the weekly peace vigil from 4-5PM put on by the Richland World Citizens for Peace.  "We've been meeting once a week for an hour on the sidewalk on George Washington Way by John Dam Plaza in Richland to protest the war and stand as a witness for peace.  We invite you to join us in helping to move the ship of state in a new direction (albeit slowly, very slowly). We'll have signs you can borrow, or bring your own or a flag, or you can simply stand with us and show your support for ending this horrific war. This is by no means a silent vigil; we welcome your views and your camaraderie."  --Gene Weisskopf

To find out more about World Citizens for Peace, see their website http://wcpeace.org/, or phone Gene at 509-946-1316.

The Progressive Caucus quarterly meeting will be at the TRAC center, 6600 Burden Blvd., Pasco WA at 8AM.  Agenda items will include considering the AFL-CIO immigration resolution, adopting a new version of our bylaws, and electing one more member of the eboard.  The full agenda, statements by the three eboard candidates and a status update on resolutions will be posted on our website. http://www.waprogressives.org/

The Unity Caucus will be meeting directly after the end of the WSPCC afternoon general meeting in Room # at the TRAC center.
