America In Solidarity will be holding its first convention on November 10th in Tacoma. We want to bring together our volunteers and progressives from throughout the Northwest (and further) to discuss the issues that we find important: affordable health care, trade agreements, ending the occupation in Iraq and electoral reform. There will be panels on these subjects but also we are talking about other panels our attendees may find important such as blogging, the media, the 2008 presidential race and building a progressive base.
There will be a great workshop on the topic of immigration. And two of the leading experts on trade issues will present a forum on the subject.
Darcy Burner will be a panelist on a forum about civil liberties and we will be announcing our keynote speaker soon.
