Feeling sick about the state of health care? (If not, go see Michael Moore's new movie "Sicko")
Well, America In Solidarity is doing a few things to make a difference.
Next week in Tacoma, we are asking our volunteers to show up to one (or both) of the following events:
1. We'll be hosting another forum about health care with local health care leaders and elected officials. It will be Monday, July 9th at 7pm at the IBEW Hall in Tacoma.
http://www.americasolidarity.org/node/703.
2. On Tuesday, July 10th the Tacoma City Council will be discussing a move to place on the November ballot a resolution to
"that would authorize the Tacoma City Council to send a resolution to the Washington
State Legislature and the United States Congress that would express the City's support for state and federal legislation providing access to appropriate, high quality health care that is available to all individuals."
If the Feds don't want to tackle the health care problem in this country, then we may have to start elsewhere. This is a step to let them know weneed changes...now.
We are asking volunteers to show up at 5pm at the Tacoma City Hall to speak in favor of the resolution.
