Darcy Burner needs $ now

[Update as of 1:30 PM on March 31: We're soooooo close. Only $2,000 more to go. Pass it on! I'll post an update at 5:30 or 6:00 tonight.]

[Update #2: 6:08 PM -- Zach over at the Burner campaign says money's pouring in and amount keeps going up. They're confident that they'll have the amount needed -- and are excited to exceed the goal. They've raised over $130,000 in 10 days. Yep, I think we might be taking our country back. Darcy will be at next week's Drinking Liberally "to thank the Netroots personally."]

I'm hearing that the Darcy Burner campaign needs an additional $7,000 by tomorrow night (March 31) in order to get $250,000 from the Democratic party.

This is a key seat for 2006.  Darcy is challenging Dave Riechert.  The balance of the House may depend on this.  So it is a national as well as an 8th Congressional District matter.

after a pleading letter from her staffer Richard Erwin, saying just what you did. Doubt if my $25 will put her over the top.

I won't tell my husband I've sent money to a politician again. I make less than $10K a year...

Erwin also wants to meet with all the DFA hosts (I am one in West Seattle) to organize troops for Darcy.

I was mistaken, Erwin does not work for Burner, he's an EAstside DFA organizer.

"Last Friday, Darcy Burner's campaign for the 8th Congressional District was within $10,000 of meeting a requirement of $320,000 cash on hand, which in turn would qualify them for the DCCC's "Red to Blue" program, which would result in receiving from the DCCC an addititonal $250,000.

Then some bills came due, some spending had to happen, and they needed $39,000 as of Tuesday.

I just called their office, and as of 3 PM today, they only need $7,000 by end of day tomorrow to meet their requirement.

If you haven't given yet to Darcy's campaign, please do so now...

...or call the campaign directly at 425.454.0402.

Because every dollar counts.

Thanks,
Rich Erwin
Co-Organizer, Eastside DFA"

...Darcy's campaign is $2,000 away from meeting it's goal.

So if you haven't given, please do.

Zach Silk, Darcy Burner's campaign manager, says that Darcy will be attending "Drinking Liberally" on Tuesday to thank the blogosphere for its help with this effort.

Lynn at Evergreen Politics (http://www.evergreenpolitics.com/ep/2006/04/darcy_blows_the.htm) and Goldy at HorsesAss.org (http://www.horsesass.org/index.php?p=1506) have more.

Reichert is in for a tough battle this year - this is huge for the 8th!
