Washblog/Kos get together

[editor's note, by switzerblog] {Front-paged as this is a community event} Well, the automatic email we have all learned to ignore has scheduled a meet up for this Saturday.

Noemie and I were wondering if anyone would show up. I'm going to make it official and plan it.

Saturday March 11, 2006
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Uptown Espresso & Bakery
2504 4th Ave, Seattle, WA
(206) 441-1084

(4th and Wall is the nearest intersection)

The coffee shop allows for talking without yelling across a table. If we decide we need to increase our intake of ethanol, we can go somewhere else. Last time we ended up at a Japanese restaurant (of course, there were only 3 of us).

We don't bite or anything so feel free to bring friends.

I guess this can be an open thread.

I could go, but I may have to bring my 12-year old daughter along, so the ethanol intake would be limited...

so take this with a grain 'o' salt, but...

Why do this on a Saturday?  Why a Saturday at night?  And, why a Sat., at night, in Belltown!?!?!?

Belltown is biz-ay at night on the weekends.  Why not a neighborhood joint on a weeknight?  Parking is a be-yotch in my neighborhood.

We do Drinking Liberally in the Montlake neighborhood on a weeknight, which seems fine.  If this is a less-than-monthly thing, why not schedule ahead of time at a place where all us adults can go and relax?  (I have long disliked well-lit coffee joints with no booze for any politically related activity.  That's why the Labor Temple has a bar in the basement, after all.)

Thanks, I'm just throwing this out there.

ps: I'm not against people bringing their kids...

I'm doing Camp Fire with my daughter. Some other time, though. Thanks.

I'd love to get together with everyone and 'splain my decision to skedaddle from politics (if anyone gives a hoot), but like some others, I'll be with my daughter.  Have fun; I do miss you guys.

btw, Kos himself will be in town later this spring (April or May 6) for the book tour.  Might be nice to have a Washbloggian gathering with the author.  Just sayin'...

Switzerblog'll knock you out!

Who cares where it all is.  If you can show up... which I cannot...er..uh.. long drive.  But still just have fun!.. or suggest a different place.  It's not like you live in Richland Washington or something so limited you have to endure loud classic rock to have a meeting.

peace, love, cat food!

I can't edit the story myself to add an update.

I got an email from mcjoan. She's in town and might join us.

I have complimentary tickets to "Beyond Orient," a bellydance spectacular at Langston Hughes Theater, and many of my friends are in the show.

Next time...
