I volunteered to phonebank on Monday evening, in response to the email request below.

Not that I enjoy soliciting strangers, but for Jim McD--hell, I'd do phonesex calls for Jim if it would raise a ton of cash (doubtful).

It pains me that he is forced to spend time fundraising to pay massive legal fees, when we all want his attention on more important things. As you can see from my recent DKos diary, Strip 4 Democracy? I would put on a racy show in my Dad's barn, or in this case a classy theater.

But back to the email:

"Dear Friends of Jim McDermott,

After the recent court decision of this past week it is more URGENT than ever to help raise funds to support Jim. Please volunteer to staff a phone during one of the following sessions:

Sunday, April 2rd from 5:30 pm - 9:15 pm
Monday, April 3rd from 5:30 pm - 9:15 pm

Or let me know that you can volunteer at future calling events if not the dates mentioned above.

The calling will take place at the offices of Phil Lloyd:

Seattle, WA 98101

Parking at Pacific Place will be covered and pizza will be served! Phone training will start at 5:30 pm with calling from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Please bring your cell phones if you have a plan with unlimited local minutes. Please RSVP your attendance as soon as you can. Call if you have any questions.
