What Cathy McMorris Stands For

[ED: Front paged, NM]

A few days ago the American Conservative Union (ACU), ranked the most conservative members of congress and it's not surprising that Cathy McMorris was on the top of the list. Cathy McMorris has scored a 100%, meaning that her voting record is one of the most conservative in Congress.

McMorris has time and time again ignored her district in order to further her career. She has almost always followed her party line in order to impress Republican leadership, and she has voted with Tom Delay over 98% of the time. She may be advancing politically in Washington DC by doing whatever the Republican Party wants her to do, but she has been ignoring the voters of the 5th Congressional District.

The 5th CD needs a moderate representative who can work on both sides of the isle in order to accomplish more for our district. Instead we have a representative that has proven to be a rubber stamp in the Republican controlled congress and has been unable to think for herself or her district.

Is to do everything we can to retake Congress so that any of our other hopes and ideas can stand a fighting chance of being heard. This means we must keep the seats we have and take the seats we don't. Goldmark, Wright and Burner are 20 percent of the House seats needed to take the House back.
Impeachment and or Censuring aren't gonna happen with the likes of Cathy, or Hastings, or the sherriff in office. Sensible security, enviroment, energy, and even something as basic as decent ethical behavior is not going to happen on thier watch.
It's time to change the guard!

I have a personal history from the first years of reaching the legal voting age and believing I was a man of conservative values.

Although never pressed to define those values, had I been pressed, whatever I thought it meant to be "conservative" would not look like what the poll reflects - particularly in the resulting label of "most conservative."

The voting patterns indicate that these so-called "most conservative" politicans are in fact the most opportunistic and willing to nose up to the corporate conformity trough. That's the porky trough where there is so much moolah that it slops over the side and you can avoid being seen at the trough and get it out of the muck if you're willing to dip your face into muck.

Who's running against McMorris?  I tried to find a out a few times, without success.  I even tried to convince my one friend in Spokane to enter the race, just for kicks.  Part of that 50 state strategy.
