Initiative 933 is the most dangerous assault on
Washington's environment and quality of life
in over a decade. It attacks protections for forests,
farmland, open spaces, clean water,
clean air and endangered species. It would lead
to more irresponsible development in your
neighborhood, more traffic on your way to
work, more lawsuits and higher taxes.

That's why communities all over the state are
getting together to say NO to I-933!
Washingtonians said NO to this bad idea 10 years
ago and now the same special interests are back
pushing the same bad idea. Over the next month
local coalitions and activists all over the state
are kicking off their opposition to I-933. We
need you to join us at the Campaign Kick-off in
your area to help us show that Washington is
going to say NO to this bad idea again!
Please RSVP to the contact person in your area.
Please join us at the campaign kick-off event in

--you'd think that they could put together some money to pay for summer jobs for a Truth Squad.  At the White Center Safeway, a young black kid who looked to be high school age or just beyond was collecting signatures for 933 and also the Denny Falk "death tax" idiocy, plus some initiative about Seattle schools that I paid no attention to because I'm not in the city limits.

He was flat out lying about 933, claiming that it had something to do with reversing last year's Supreme Court eminent domain decision, and lying about the estate tax claiming it started at $600,000.  And working for Denny Falk, no longer a cop because of shooting kids of his skin color in the back.

My point here is that he was getting paid to do this, and he probably couldn't afford to do the lefty volunteer hair shirt thing.  Why are we not offering real material benefits to low income kids?  The wingers are, and filling their heads full of lies.

Some kind of simple straightforward leaflet is needed here (facts but no policy wonkery, please) and some kids with cell phones could be paid to look out for petitioners and do very effective counterpetitioning.  I'd suggest moving on something like this quickly.
