New Washblog card idea! Vote!

Two Washingtons coming together in blue-ness. Modern. Bold enough to read easily, even in a dim bar with a flashing red light, under the influence of alcohol.

she would give you a sheet of grid paper and

remember bic bananas?

you'd get a red one and a green one, OR

a blue one and a yellow one, AND

when you had filled each little square in with an alternating color, you could go. you'd practically be cross eyed walking into the street, with a headache.

and

wtf does this have to do with anything, right?

well, art class - (drawing, painting, sculpting) and shop class and any other artsy fartsy creative thing class - EVERYTHING i did sucked.

I think the ONLY 'art' I was EVER successful with was in detention, filling in graph paper squares with alternating red and green magic markers, even though I ended up cross eyed and with a headache.

me a and a friend, who also has a math degree - in wood shop EVERYTHING we made was crooked and uneven and seriously fuc$$d up ... how come I can manipulate fractions in ... calculus or trig, and I fuck up cutting wood?

oh well.

puppets, fonts, colors ... it is all greek to me.

I like the simplicity -- I like the green and blue,  reflecting a sustainability focus as well as progressivsm.  Kind of like the green-blue alliance of labor/environmentalism.

Wash-blog is such a basic name, such a direct signifier -- so's this card.  It would probably need some other text, perhaps on the back, that invites participation, indicates the open nature of the site, the diary section open to posting from anyone.  Maybe it needs some other language reflecting the site's mission.  Wonder what the other writers/editors think?

That's all there are down here in the Oyster Capitol of the world (South Bend and environs).

I'll take the card into the dim bar just 3 blocks away and let you know.

Course I need to be wearing a hunter's vest, baseball cap that says "chuck yew farley" and limite myself to words with 5 letters or less.

But I'll flash the card and see how many know what the funny dot in the middle of the sentence means.

I voted "I love it"
