He claims that he is immune to ALL oversight over his office's handling of classified information because his role of President of the Senate gives him Legislative Privilege from interference by the Executive Branch. Of course he also claims Executive Privilege when the Congress comes a-callin'.

But Senators can call "bullshit" on this nonsense. The Senate is governed by its own rules and those rules can be changed by a vote of the body. Rahm Emmanuel has correctly threatened to de-fund the Vice-President's office (staff, etc.) based on his  ridiculous claim that being President of the Senate somehow removes him from the Executive Branch.

Senators must immediately change the rules to define the role of President of the Senate. They must force the President of the Senate to report to the body and immediately share all the information he has classified with the Leadership.  

Cheney's  gambit relies on the assumption that the Senate will be callow and indolent in the face of this outrage. Our Senators must stand up for the body to which we elected them and confront Cheney's cynical canard.
