...on Google Video. One of them an hour-long movie. Anyway, while some of the stuff did bring doubt into my head (especially why the other bulding at TWC collapsed) the thing that really bugged me was why we never saw any video of a place hitting the Pentagon. And, it doesn't really look like a plane hit.

I am not a tin-foil-hat guy, and it made me wonder.

They are unable to take each claim at face value and on individual merits. Either all of their claims are true or you, the questioner, are a fascist. Period.

There ARE questions that need to be answered about what the Bush Administration knew, when they knew it and what they did about it.

That being said - the focus on the buildings is misplaced. I understand the anger and confusion but most of these "conspiracy claims" are from people that have no, I repeat no training in Structural engineering, video analysis, investigations, explosives, aeronautics, forensics or physics. Reality isn't always explained by appearances. Our senses fool us every day - this is why we try to use measurements to get data instead of what our "guts" tell us - we are wrong most of the time when we do this.

Hundreds of experts agree on the "official" investigation. One individual with a shady past questions the data . . . and guess who has the "correct" explanations to them?

The proof they put up in the form of links, that I have followed to the original source, point to articles that actually DON'T show what they think they do. The quotes are cherry picked to prove their point. When the people they quote are interviewed they point out that they have been taken out of context - then the conspiracy sites say those people have "sold out" or are under government control.

They have no ability to have their own claims questioned. For instance: concerning the pentagon. They claim missiles have been used. There is a paper showing all of the plane components the CT people claim are missing, there is paint analysis from the building showing where the color was used in plane production with images, measurement analysis of the fuselage showing how it DOES fit the hole in the building, and on and on. To this day, they need their missiles.

They quote people that were in the chaos saying it "looked like a controlled demolition". Saying something "looked like" is not the same as "was". After the investigation explained why those in the chaos thought they saw something is rejected by the CT sites. For instance the explosions in the basement were caused, not by explosives, but 1000s of gallons of fuel pouring down elevator shafts and igniting.

Investigations start with data collection. Then you take the data and form an explanation. What they do is take an explanation and try to fit data into explaining it - even at the cost of ignoring large portions of that data.

If you don't accept everything they say - you are working for the Bush administration and hate America (hmmm, who does that sound like?). They point out that because "conspiracies" have occurred it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that their conspiracy has occurred.

The arguments have done nothing but muddy the waters. I don't know of one "debunker" that says the Bush Administration should not be investigated. But when an investigation shows, logical documented evidence that proves the CT folks are wrong - they seem to think it discredits EVERY question and fight looking at their own explanations. A good theory is flexible enough to alter. If it isn't - then perhaps it should be thrown out.

This cast a huge shadow of doubt on any of their claims because the loss of credibility. This does nothing but make it harder to answer the valid questions that SHOULD be answered.

I think these groups are actually making it harder to get the answers they want, and should get.

I believe there will be information that comes out that will show the Administration is blocking something. But investigations take a long time to be completed, sometimes years. They want answers NOW. Again, I understand why they want it, but life isn't a CSI episode where everything can be resolved in an hour with no loose ends. It does not happen that way. Never has. Never will.

Because they started with an answer instead of a question, I think they have lost perspective.

I just wanted to follow up.  

That Wallingford movies org, the one that shows films at Keystone UCC, showed a 9/11 movie last Friday.  An estimated 250 people showed up.

Then on Saturday, there was a 9/11 themed event at the HUB Auditorium.  $15 tickets.  I was told 2/3rd of the seats were filled, so that's about 300 bodies.

I'm really, really surprised, a quite a bit disappointed, by the high turnout.  These things are insidious.  I think the combo of people's gullibility, the lack of "closure", and everyone's pent up outrage at Team Bush are fueling this 9/11 conspiracy phenomenon.

People from Fair Elections were present, handing out flyers for our upcoming April 25th event.  I was going to stick around for the Friday movie, but it was just a rehash of all the same old stuff, so I bugged out quick.
